Faire is over, and I have to say it has been one hell of a year.

I have made a few new friends, learned a ton of new lessons, and found myself growing more in the past few months than I thought possible. It is strange how life throws things at us. Everytime I think I am about to figure out this dance life throws in a spin, or a lift even! I find myself musing often, about many things, most of which are not under my control. Which of course makes them the most frustrating! But there is nothing to be done about that.

I am so grateful for this year. I am grateful for new friends, new turns (spins, lifts, steps, etc), and new oppurtunities.

Love to all. Hopefully my next post won't be so enigmatic.

As some of you know as well as the Office Assistant at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire I am also a Substitute Educational Assistant at the San Bernardino County School District. I work specifically with Special Education Children. I have been working as a Sub for almost a year. In that time I have had the great honor and pleasure of working with so many wonderful and special children. All of whom have left their marks on my life, and my heart.

Last week a student I have been working with pretty consistently over the past few months, one who was in my mom's long term Sub Position class finally lost her battle. She had just turned 7. Her name is Sarah. Sarah touched my heart in a way I can't possibly explain. She never was able to move on her own, and she had her own nurse with her at all times to take care of her every need. It broke my heart to see a child who would never grow up, or experience life the way we all take for granted. All I remember is whenever I would walk over to Sarah, and touch her arm and talk to her she would smile at me. And she had such a beautiful smile.

Bless her heart. And rest her soul. She is finally free.

This is the link to her obituary. If you would like to please take a look at this very special little girl who will always hold a place in my heart.

So it's been a while since I've posted. Life has just been super crazy!

I've been working 40+ hours a week at Faire. Not just at the office, but building the faire, and getting everything set up for the opening. Not to mention trying to take the random day off to sub teach every now and then. I haven't even had time to play XBox lately because I've been so insane!

Faire opened up and went really well. I had a good opening weekend at the booth, and was way excited to bring out some new products at The Majestic Dragon. Including the earrings you can see me wearing in the picture! Second weekend was much the same. Sunday was very slow to begin with, but I had a great time walking around with my mom. She got her very first Renaissance Costume, and was so excited about all the booths and products!

On a personal note I'm doing so much better. I'm happy. It's a wonderful shift.

I wish the alchohol could've numbed the pain.

I'm hurting so bad.

That about covers it.

Now that I have finished a couple of hefty assignments at work I am finally back down to my normal not too busy days. I've had quite a few things on my mind, things that are causing me a lot of stress, grief and pain, however I am trying not to focus on those things. I am trying to make the conscious decision each day to have a good day. And thus far (for the past two days) it has worked.

I am having a blast in the office, and it is reminding me how much I love my co-workers. They are patient with me, and put up with my occasional bouts of drama (which I try to keep to a minimum as I like to try and have a no drama off the stage policy but it doesn't always work), and make the working experience worth while.

I am writing The Renaissance League again, which always makes me happy, especially when I get to hear the laughter from the various parts of my office when I deliver the few pages hot of the printer. It just proves the silliness of my brain, welcome to Samworld if you aren't thoroughly confused yet just wait, you will be.

I am also super excited faire is coming up just around the corner here. I can't wait to strap back into the bodice (I hope it still fits) and see the magic come to life again. I love the chance it gives me to act, and play, and see all the people who have become so dear to me over the last few seasons. I'm really looking forward to some of the new characters and shows (like Christina! Excitement!!). Can't wait!!

Countdown, meeting and classes start on March 7th! Hope to see ya'll there.

So a lot has been going on lately and I haven't been in the state of mind or near to a computer long enough to get it down.

I'm working as a substitute Educational assistant but I just took my CBEST and have passing scores as far as I know (they haven't graded the essay yet) which means by fall I can be a substitute Teacher. I am also applying to get a Master's in Special Education at CSUSB. I'm excited, I love working the the kids, especially doing theatre and other activities with them because they get so excited about doing something most people don't think they can do.

I started working in the Ren Faire office again, as the Office Manager, so I run around and work for/with everyone. But I love it. I love working in the office. It gets me away from the drama with all the teachers being pissed we had a 4 billion dollar education budget cut, and I get to be with the wonderful people here I love. It's great to come into the office and be happy to see everyone you're working with.

Sadly on January 3rd of this year my Aunt passed away. She had brian and lung cancer that eventually caused so many problems she had heart failure. I was back east, Rhode Island, to be at her funeral. It was a sad time, my aunt was only in her fifties, and too young to die. But it was great to be with my mom's side of the family again, and see how they are all growing and doing. I tried to be as supportive as possible to everyone there, and even managed to enjoy some time with family members. I got to go to a bar with my Uncle and Aunt from Georgia. Play laser tag with my cousins. And just generally get to know my family again. We all miss Liz, my aunt, and it just proved to us we all needed to stick together and live life to the fullest.

I am so very excited about Ren Faire coming up, I've been dying to see all the people and get back into the costume. ;)

That's the short condensed version but it pretty much updates it.

It's been a while since I posted so I wanted to give a general update.

So I'm alive, surprisingly enough. I've been working on a semi-permanent basis at a middle school with an autistic student. I've been working with him a lot and I've seen a marked improvement, which makes me so proud. On that note I've also decided to go back to school for my Masters in Special Education. I really love working with these kids, and I want to do so on a more interactive basis.

I now have Disney Annual Passport, the select one, so if anyone wants to go to the Big D-land, please call me, I've been lonely, I want to go to DISNEYLAND!!! But it's no fun on your own! :P

I have found out I have no self esteem, and that's all I'll say about that.

Election, yeah, no comment.

Anyhoo I miss everyone, hope to see ya'll soon!

Much love.
Blessed be.

So faire this weekend was so much fun! Jason, Raven and I drove up late Friday night, and set up camp, without waking anyone at 2 on the am. The next day we woke up, freezing cold, and got up to do breakfast, set stuff up, say hello to everyone, etc, etc. I did inventory, and Jason had his first day of working as a boothie at ren faire. He was having so much fun. He sold a bunch of stuff. Gigged not stop, and got glomped by all his friends at faire that have been dying to see him. It was really cold all weekend, but that couldn't dampen my mood. I was just happy to be there. I finally relaxed and had fun for a weekend. And Vicki was there! It was so cool to see her!

Deadwood was Saturday night. I got drunk, not sloshed, but pretty decently drunk. I was dressed as Deadwood as I could, but because the beautiful corset I ordered online did not arrive I was wearing a make-shift outfit and felt so pretty. I got so many compliments on the make-up I put on (because nobody really ever sees me in make-up, I tend not to wear it). I was the dealer at Texas hold em' after stripping DW of the duty, for some reason his girlfriend kept beating the snot out of all of us, and we determined it was his fault ( all in good fun of course) so I took the deck. We played till eleven thirtyish, and Jason won. He had all the chips at our table.

Sunday was a blast. I got gifts from people, just had a fun. Bought Jason a belt when the artwork I commissioned for my mom wasn't done. He loves it! I just love to see that boy smile! I also bought myself fondue. One of life's many wonderful joys. I just had an awesome weekend. And though I went to work tired on Monday I had a great day.

Monday I worked for Mom, I got the principal of the program interested in my because she walked in to check on the kids and I was the only one working with them besides the teacher. (Not an unusual thing). I'm a substitute education assistant. I work with everything from preschoolers to high schoolers; Juvenile Hall kids, to special education. It's sad what I see is some classrooms, but I try to make the best of every situation. Monday night Jason and I play cards, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite past times.

TODAY I worked eight hours as opposed to my usual six at a preschool. Only got punched and kicked twice. Got home and chilled with mom. Now I'm looking, with no luck, for a job for tomorrow and rping on my online site I run. One of the kids is thoroughly pissing me off! I love being the dungeon master but some people really ruin it for us.

If anyone wants to join my site it's Thought Chasers: http://z11.invisionfree.com/Thought_Chasers/index.php?act=idx

Come rp with me, it's fun!

You are The Magician

Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing,
you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.
